ARTISAN MARKET

All About Artisan Markets

Where communities gather to support local creators.

The Boho Market is the largest network of artisans with the most pop-up artisan markets in the state of Texas. With more than 50 markets hosted each year, predominantly in the Dallas, Fort Worth, and the surrounding North Texas area, we’ve likely got a market near you this weekend!

Please find one of our community events featuring small businesses and artisans, and find your new favorite handcrafted piece!

Artisan markets: What are they?

Artisan markets, like those hosted by The Boho Market, provide an opportunity for artists and creators to showcase their products while inviting the community to shop small and purchase local goods. Not only do these local shopping events help support artists, but they also help keep money in the community and create a marketplace for unique, handmade and one-of-a-kind goods. Plus, it helps you practice mindful consumption and further the movement toward slow fashion, small batch, ethical shopping featuring sustainable goods. And that’s something to be proud of!

In fact, going back to community support, did you know that for every $100 you spend at locally owned businesses, $68 stays in your community? That's $25 more than if you spent that same $100 at a national chain—all going into making your community everything you know it can be!

Finding your local market:

Similar to your local farmers markets (and often paired with them), makers markets can be held indoors or outdoors and on a regular basis or as pop-up shops. All of The Boho Market’s events are announced on our social media and our events page. Interested in hosting a market at your property, office building, apartment complex or local town square? So it’s like a craft fair?

Not quite. Often confused with craft shows, our community markets have stricter guidelines and curating processes to ensure the quality and uniqueness of the goods sold. Our neighborhood markets also showcase more than just traditional crafts—offering homegoods, beauty products, handmade and vintage clothing, locally-made food such as jams, pies and honey, beverages and more. Our curation and selection process also sets us apart from flea markets, swap meets, vendor bazaars and other street fairs.

Every curated market is different:

Every one of our artisan markets is unique—and that’s what makes them fun. While some accompany farmers markets and festivals, others stand alone. Some are open-air markets and some are indoors. We have seasonal holiday markets, like our Christmas Markets, and we have year-round events featuring workshops, live music, food trucks and more. Plus, our community of local artisans and small businesses is always growing, so each market offers new local goods to shop.

When it comes to curated goods and art markets, The Boho Market is unlike any other. Hosting more than 50 community events annually with more than 7,000 small businesses in our network, there’s truly a market for everyone. We can’t wait to see you at a market soon!
